HIV is still a huge taboo in our society. So people get extra careful while dealing with HIV patients so as to not get it from them. Now it can be transmitted through blood transfusion, needle sharing and intercourse. But this young woman here got HIV through a very unusual medium.
The Brazilian girl says she contracted the disease through sharing of her manicure kit!
The 20 year old found out that she had the HIV after donating blood which showed her blood sample had the virus. She denied having contracted the disease through the other known mediums.
Upon getting tested, her mother was cleared off with negative results. When they thought hard on what could have led to the problem they remembered that the girl had shared a manicure kit with her cousin some 10 years ago. That cousin had later tested positive for HIV.
After researching on the blood samples of the girl and her cousin it was revealed that the genetic material matched and the girl had contracted HIV through sharing of manicure kit.
