New UNIJOS VC escapes death

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Jos (UNIJOS), Prof. Sebastian Maimoko, on Wednesday night escaped death when gunmen stormed his home, shooting dead a private security man and injuring a police officer and another private guard.
Maimoko was said to be away when the incident happened. A source said the injured security man was whisked away and the rifle of the police officer seized. According to a source, the VC, who assumed office in June, was out of the country at the time of the attack.

Dogara diverted FG water project to his farm –Jibrin

A former Chairman, Committee on Appropriation, Mr. Abdulmumin Jibrin, has vowed to continue making fresh allegations against the four principal officers until they were prosecuted.

In his latest question, which he numbered 21, Jibrin accused the Speaker, House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, allegedly “diverted” a Federal Government water project to his farm in Nasarawa State.

“Allegation no 21 to Mr. Speaker: why did you fraudulently divert a Federal Government water project to your farm in Nasarawa State? How are you funding the farm?” he asked on his twitter handle.

Forty-seven-year-old Zhen Zhen attempted to kill her lover, Leo Feng, 41, when she set Ernest Hotel in the Ikeja area of Lagos on fire.
The hotel attendant, Emeka Nwaegbo, said this at the resumed hearing of the case at the Ebute-Meta Magistrate’s court.
Nwaegbo told the court that Zhen accused Feng of sleeping with her without giving her food, which informed her decision.

A priest has been 'beheaded' by two ISIS knifemen who cut his throat after bursting into a French church and taking nuns and worshippers hostage before being shot dead by police.
Five people including the 86-year-old priest, two nuns and two parishioners were held by assailants who raided the church in Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray near Rouen in Normandy during morning mass at 9am.
