OAU May Go On Strike
The federal high court sitting in Osogbo has today 7th of June, declared the meeting that brought Professor Salami in as vice chancellor OAU illegal.
Non Academic staff union of universities NASU has exclusively told Insider News that the court has granted the prayers of NASU and has termed as illegal the governing council meeting that brought in Professor Salami “.
NASU Chairman Comrade Odewunmi has said they will keep on protesting ” no man can come from Abuja and become our vice chancellor, if things keep going this way by ending of June we may go on strike because we will resist this “.
He further revealed that out of the six shortlisted candidates just two appeared for the screening in Abuja ” OAU registrar wrote a letter to all aspirants telling them to come to Abuja for the screening but just two went while four others boycotted it, they even promised to pay the aspirants money if they come, we will keep protesting this illegality, we have not started anything, we are determined “.
OAU has been in controversy since announcement of Prof Salami as Vice Chancellor OAU.
